In 1982 we purchased our first Stafford from the Textrix Kennels, a dog whom we named Sid. We thought we'd give "the show game" a try and had limited success with him but that did not deter us and the show bug had kicked in. Our next show dog was a red, called Demon Firestriker. He was more successful in the ring and it was at this time we applied for the Crossguns affix. We were delighted when this was granted to us by The Kennel Club as it is one of the oldest affixes in the history of the breed.

In 1993 we mated our homebred bitch Crossguns Smooth Action to Debrella Jamaica Rum at Dumbriton (line breeding) and produced our first champion Ch Crossguns Revolution. Revolution was top puppy in 1994 and it was written of him  that no other puppy had won more first places than him. In 1993 we also mated our other bitch Moosskel Bleached Beaut at Crossguns to Dumbriton Special Brew at Berlscarg (outcross breeding) this litter also produced a champion. Ch Crossguns Saturday Special at Berlscarg is Crossguns Billy Black litter brother . He too was very successful in the show ring and although he never gained his title is our uncrowned champion.

Crossguns High Velocity (litter brother to Crossguns Smooth Action) is on many of todays pedigrees being GG Grandsire of Breed CC Record Holder Casanova. Bright Lady Mayo (Bills mothers bitch) was mated to High Velocity and produced the dam of Ch Bullyview Alright Mate who is the sire to Casanova's dam. It was 7 years before we had our next champion, but this was worth waiting for.

Ch Valglo Casanova at Crossguns (Vinnie), was 3rd pick of litter. He became a champion at 15 months old also winning 5RCCs in the bargin. Casanova during his show career won 40 Challenge Certificates (CC) 16 Reserve Challenge Certificates (RCC) 36 Best Of Breeds (BOB)  Group 1 at Border Union and numerous Groups 2, 3 & 4. He was Top Junior in 2001, Top Stafford in 2002, 2003 & 2004, Top Stud Dog in 2005 and won the CC and BOB at Crufts in 2003, 2004 & 2005 setting another breed record. Casanova is the sire to Ch Days of Thunder at Crossguns (Pompy) , who wons 3CCs and 2RCCs, and who now lives in Spain and Ch Crossguns Romance 3CCs & 6RCCs.

Ch Days of Thunder is the sire to:  Crossguns The Graduate at Crossswords, Crossguns Sexy Thing at Bultery both currently having 2CCs each and also produced a Champion and Ch Cashalee Charmer at Crossguns.

Ch Cashalee Charmer at Crossguns, (Ronny) he has 4 CCs and 5RCCs,  1BOB & 1BIS. His 1st RCC was won at Crufts as a puppy in 2005, Casanova winning the CC. Another of his RCCs was also won behind Casanova.

He was mated to Ch Crossguns Romance and this mating also produced a Champion: Ch Crossguns  Memphis Belle became a champion at 17 months old and is Top Junior 2007 by winning 3CCs and 2RCCs. She also won the bitch CC at Crufts 2008, 2013 having won a very strong open bitch class and BOB & Group 2 at SKC Aug 07 in her first group.  A fantastic achievement.

Another bitch of our breeding CH Crossguns Red All About It at Aymstaff is currently on 3 CCs.We have bred many overseas champions, including Australian Ch Crossguns Lady Madonna, Belguim Ch Crossguns Nitro Express, Austrian Ch Crossguns Pole Position.
